Carbon heating film VS Graphene electric heating film

With the gradual popularization of electric underfloor heating, various materials such as graphene, carbon crystals, carbon fibers, and heating metal wires have emerged in the market, which can be said to be a mix of good and bad.
For products, different products have different usage values, and consumers can choose according to their own needs and budget. This is a consistent market law and is not wrong. What the editor wants to say is that there are some merchants or products that are not clearly priced, and there are also many phenomena of “selling dog meat while hanging sheep’s heads”. As a new type of high-tech material, graphene is not an easy task for non industry professionals to fully understand its essence. Many businesses also use this as a gimmick to confuse the public and promote products made from other materials.
Therefore, many people believe that graphene heating flim is carbon fiber heating film or carbon crystal underfloor heating. To be precise, the main constituent element of these three is carbon, and some people may confuse them. However, in reality, due to the different structures of material composition, they have essential differences. As is well known, diamond and the pencil lead we use in our daily lives are mainly composed of carbon, but their performance varies greatly.
So there are significant differences among these three in terms of raw materials, heating principles, and components.
Let’s talk about the difference between graphene underfloor heating and carbon heating film

01 Different raw materials

Carbon heating film:

Carbon fiber is a fiber material with a carbon content of over 95%. It is a microcrystalline graphite material obtained by stacking organic fibers such as flake graphite microcrystals along the fiber axis direction and undergoing carbonization and graphitization treatment. The heating substrate of carbon fiber heating element is made by special process composite of polyacrylonitrile and viscose based carbon fiber.

Graphene electric heating film:

Graphene electric heating film: a flexible film made from graphene material through special processes.

02 Different principles

Carbon fiber heating film: The inner core is composed of a cold wire hot wire (long wire, short wire), and the outer layer is composed of an insulation layer, grounding, shielding layer, and outer sheath. After being powered on, the hot wire heats up and transfers heat to the heating body through thermal conduction.
Graphene electric heating film: Under the action of an electric field, carbon molecular clusters in the heating body of the electric heating film generate Brownian motion, and carbon molecules generate heat energy through friction and impact, which is transmitted to the outside in the form of far-infrared radiation and convection. The conversion rate between electrical energy and heat energy is as high as 99% or more.

03 Different effects

The heating rate of graphene geothermal film is twice that of carbon fiber geothermal film, about 15 minutes. Graphene underfloor heating has a more uniform heating area and is heated through thermal radiation, making the human body more comfortable and healthy

04 Different efficiencies

The initial electric heating conversion rate of carbon fiber underfloor heating is over 98%, but the heat attenuation rate of carbon fiber underfloor heating is large, with a maximum annual attenuation of up to 10%. Its loss is higher than 30%, and coupled with the system’s loss, it difficult for the actual electric heating conversion rate to exceed 70%

Graphene materials have superconductivity, super stability, and a conversion rate of up to 99.9%, making them truly the king of electricity savings!

05 Different lifespans

Carbon heating film may have a lifespan of less than 5 years due to its rapid thermal decay.
Graphene electric heating film has a service life of 50 years, which is the same as that of a house.

06 Different security

Carbon heating film:

1. Poor safety and easy to burn
2. Internal fibers are prone to breakage
3. Temperature imbalance, difficult to control
4. Not waterproof
5. Not resistant to acid and alkali
6. Poor creep resistance
7. During operation, certain radiation is generated, and long-term use may have an impact on health, especially for pregnant women and children

Graphene electric heating film:

1. Graphene products have protective treatment in the heating film itself, which is non-magnetic, insulating, and not afraid of water. Moreover, graphene’s unique high strength and stability make it the best heating equipment in the industry in terms of safety and performance for electric heating.
2. The product comes with automatic dual system temperature protection. If the temperature is too high, it will automatically cut off the power, which is not only safe but also energy-saving.
3. The heating film is converted into a low current of 24 volts through frequency conversion, with an extremely high safety factor.
4. Far infrared heating, silent without harmful radiation.

07 Maintain different

Carbon heating film:

One time molding, difficult to repair, product quality issues, requiring complete replacement.

Graphene electric heating film:

There is almost no maintenance cost in the later stage, which is worry free. As the electric heating film is installed one by one, the products are connected in parallel, and one piece does not generate heat and does not affect the heating of the entire room.
