Carbon Floor Heating VS Graphene floor heating

The main raw material for carbon fiber floor heating is carbon fiber, which is a fiber material with a carbon content of over 95%. It is composed of organic fibers such as flake graphite microcrystals stacked along the fiber axis direction, and is obtained as microcrystalline graphite material through carbonization and graphitization treatment. The heating substrate of its carbon fiber heating element is composed of polyacrylonitrile and adhesive based carbon fiber composite through a special process.
Graphene underfloor heating is a new type of heating system made of flexible film made of graphene material through special processes.
The two have differences in principles, effects, efficiency, and other aspects.

The principle is different

Carbon fiber heating cable is a heating element made of copper, nickel, and chromium alloys, XLPE insulation layer, copper tin plated grounding wire, and aluminum layer shielded carbon fiber heating cable for heating: the inner core is composed of cold wire hot wire (long wire, short wire), and the outer core is composed of insulation layer, grounding layer, shielding layer, and outer sheath. After being powered on, the hot wire heats up and transfers heat to the heat receiving body through thermal conduction.
Under the action of an electric field, graphene electric heating film generates “Brownian motion” of carbon molecule clusters in the heating element of the electric heating film. Friction and impact of carbon molecules generate heat energy, which is transmitted to the outside in the form of far-infrared radiation and convection. The conversion rate of electrical energy and thermal energy is as high as 99% or more. The sheath is composed of a series of PVC jackets.

Different effects

Carbon fiber cable is a linear heating system with high local heat. When laid under the floor, it is easy to show traces of the cable passing through, making the floor color lighter. Under light colored tiles, the color of the tiles may turn yellow. Linear heating, with a preheating time of 2-3 hours and a soaking time of about 4 hours.
Graphene electric heating film is a surface heating method that generates heat evenly when laid under the floor without leaving any traces. It can reach the set temperature after about half an hour of electricity, and the floor surface generates heat uniformly.

Efficiency varies

The initial electric thermal conversion rate of carbon fiber underfloor heating is over 98%, but the thermal attenuation rate of carbon fiber underfloor heating is significant, with a maximum annual attenuation of up to 10%. Its inherent line loss is higher than 30%, and combined with system losses, the heat absorbed by the thickened concrete layer to prevent cracking makes it difficult for the actual electric thermal conversion rate to exceed 70%. Graphene materials have superconductivity and super stability, with a conversion rate of up to 99.9%.

Different installation cycles

A 100 square meter house with carbon fiber underfloor heating takes about a week: the heating cable is a linear heating element, providing a small heat source area. As it requires a cement mortar filling layer, it needs to be heated first before radiating heat. The construction period is relatively long, and the cement mortar needs to be air dried before entering, and a cement leveling of at least 5 centimeters must be done.
A 100 square meter house with graphene underfloor heating can be installed in one day.

Different levels of security

Carbon fiber floor heating: Poor safety, easy to burn, internal fiber filaments are prone to breakage, uneven temperature, difficult to control, not waterproof, not resistant to acid and alkali, and may produce certain radiation during operation. Long term use may have an impact on health.
Graphene electric underfloor heating: Graphene products have protective treatment on the heating film itself, which is non-magnetic, insulated, and not afraid of water; The product comes with automatic dual system temperature protection, which will automatically shut down if the temperature is too high; Far infrared heating, silent and free from harmful radiation.
