Causes of Electric Floor Heating Film System Tripping

During the operation of the electric heating film floor heating system, especially during the initial startup or after startup, there may be tripping phenomena. Why did this happen?

 

There are many reasons for the tripping of the electric heating film floor heating system, mainly caused by factors such as system overload, system leakage, and excessive leakage current.

 

If the electrical power of the system overload electric heating film exceeds the load allowed by the power switch, the overload protector will activate after being powered on, thereby disconnecting the circuit system. In addition to design reasons, the following three factors can also cause system overload: firstly, the selected power switch load is not appropriate; Secondly, the power supply voltage is unstable; The third is caused by the system startup current. Among them, the starting current only appears in the intelligent electric floor heating system using self-limiting electric heating film as the heating agent, which is determined by the properties of the self-limiting heating material.

 

There are various reasons for the leakage of electric heating film and floor heating system caused by system leakage, such as insufficient insulation strength of electric heating film; The wiring terminals and connections of the electric heating film are not tightly sealed; The electric heating film being damaged during the construction process or during the later decoration process. Cutting electric heating film, connecting terminals, insulation, and rough construction on site can easily cause electric leakage in the electric heating film system.

 

When the leakage current of the system exceeds the rated residual tripping current of the leakage protector (usually 30mA), it will cause the electric heating film system to trip. The leakage current is determined by the structure of the electric heating film floor heating system. The magnitude of leakage current can be controlled by the structure, technology, and paving process of the electric heating film product. Although the leakage current in the electric floor heating system does not pose a threat to human health, both the leakage current and the “leakage current” will be controlled by the leakage protection switch, thereby causing the system to trip. Electric heating films with different types and product structures can generate leakage currents of different values even when the heat dissipation end structure is the same. It should be noted that behaviors such as not connecting the leakage protection device or directly connecting the air switch can bring serious hidden dangers.
